The first thing you do is create questions; two relevant and two irrelevant. Instructions on questions creation are in the app and on the website. Then you review your questions and start the test.
Once the test starts, the user must "Tap for Next Question" after the timer has elapsed for each question.
After all of the questions have been asked and answered, Fibster generates a final result; either “No Lie Detected ”, “Not Sure”, or “Lie Detected”, then the test is over.
The “user” is the person who creates and asks the questions; operates the iPhone app.
The “participant” is the person who answers the questions. The participant needs to have their finger over the camera/flash of the iPhone.
The more tests, the better. In professional polygraph practice, the more questions that are asked about a specific issue, and the more tests that are administered; yields more accurate results. The same goes for Fibster.
Do multiple tests back to back, about the same issue, and see if one result (no lie detected, or lie detected) is generated more than the other.
*Note: This requires subscribing or purchasing the unlimited version of the app*
There are two main reasons. The first is technical; if the participants finger moves around too much the heart rate data being analyzed may be inconsistent/unstable, therefore affecting the test results.
Secondly, if the subject is not meaningful to the participant. If the user asks silly relevant questions with obvious answers, or questions that do not trigger an emotional reaction in the participant; it will impact the results.
Also, the practice of lie detection, or polygraph, is imperfect. There is always human error. Even professional polygraphs are not 100% accurate.
Something the participant cares about. Fibster works best at detecting deception when the participant really does not want the user to know the truth. When most people are hiding something that is meaningful/impactful to themselves or others, being asked about it will make them nervous/anxious; Fibster will pick up on that and calculate results accordingly.
Fibster gathers physiological data in real time from the participant while questions are being asked and answered. Then using a specific, well tested scoring algorithm it determines the final test results.
The science behind Fibster is based on academic research in the field of polygraph practice and procedure, as well as the incredible advancements in wearable technology.
*Note: Fibster is designed for entertainment purposes only; accuracy is not guaranteed*
This is only the beginning; at Fibster, we plan on upgrading the user experience as time goes on. Subscribing or purchasing the app not only gives you unlimited access but ensures you will be the first to experience new features as they become available.
Also, this allows Fibster to not rely on advertisements for revenue. No annoying pop up ads!
Unsubscribe on the App Store, "Delete Account", and then uninstall the app.
Even though Fibster requires users to "Enable iCloud Authentication", we do not store or collect any sensitive information. The reason we require iCloud authentication is so that we can keep track of user account types; either Free or Premium. Fibster does not store any heart rate data analyzed during tests, email addresses, or anything other than account type.
